Improved the sharpness of the canvas, which had gotten too blurry in 5.0. Paint.NET is a totally free photo- and image-editing tool that, although it was created in 2004 as a simple improvement to Microsoft Paint, over time evolved into a much more complete and full-featured program capable of competing with other great image-editing programs for Windows. This update has a handful of small improvements and bugfixes, as well as improvements for plugin developers. ![]() Offline Installers and Portable ZIPs are available over on GitHub. Paint.NET 5.0.9 changelog: Fixed: When using Alt+Tab, the internal state of the Alt key could get ‘stuck’ when the Shapes or Line/Curve tool was active, causing the next shape or line/curve to.If you already have it installed, you should be offered the update automatically within the next few days, but you can also get it immediately by going to ⚙ Settings -> Updates -> Check Now. This is the recommended download if you don't have Paint.NET installed. Download the installer from the website.To get the update immediately (once it's certified), you can follow the instructions listed here. If you already have it installed, the update should happen automatically once Microsoft certifies the update, usually within the next day or so. This helps fund development and is an alternative or supplement to sending in a donation. This is a small update that improves the sharpness of the canvas, and fixes a few other small issues. ![]()
